I don't understand the need for this thread, couldn't you have just contacted the user directly and asked for an explanation and a phone number.......oh wait you did and also got a response within the hour.

It's an unfortunate situation but a situation that does occour, it's the sellers choice to insure or not. In this case the savings on postage didn't pay off and the seller has agreed to sort it out but that will obviously take a little time as they try and locate the lost parcel.

Only royal mail are at fault here, maybe you should hold tight on your witch hunt for awhile until you know the whole situation, unless of course you have nothing better todo.
I contacted the user and had no reply, how was i to know the seller had his phone stolen? I'm not telepathic.

The parcel was signed for by someone else on the other side of the country on the 20th of october. The parcel was declared lost by Royal mail on the 4th of november.

I was only seeking advice from others as i had been left in the dark. Im sure if you were in my shoes you would probably do the same.

Let it all out big boy! We havent had any witch hunting since we stopped Bon being a keyboard warrior and gave him a job. What we are constantly trying to do is protect our members from being ripped off. This was a simple request for a phone number so we can get to the bottom of this. You know who requested that? Thats right, the buyer.

Now we have the other side of the story AND we can now see that no-one is being ripped off, we can move forward and get it all sorted out. There is no need for name calling or any other childish reactions from any of you adults who all seem to use the one account.

... who all seem to use the one account.
The three people who've currently posted are three different people. The fact that two of them live in the same flat, and one of them is a good friend who was around there last night/this morning, is pure co-incidence.

I wont bother explaining what IP means (it's noted that someone who already did that had their post removed), but a quick Google should inform you.

Jumping to the conclusion they're ALL using one account, or the insinuation that they're perhaps one person with multiple accounts, or indeed have something to hide by their actions, is rather far from the mark.

Perhaps you should stop watching so much Poirot?

And this is yet one more argument for pulling the classifieds section, which may I remind you is provided for FREE, policed by the MODS for FREE. Remember please that we will only ever try to sort out disputes based on the evidence from both sides.

As a seller it's been covered umpteen times before that YOU are responsible for the item until it has been delivered, if you fail to insure it properly it's your loss and the buyer here has done NOTHING wrong. You've been paid in a timely fashion, either refund or replace and in a timely fashion. You'd expect the same from anyone you purchased anything from online.

By the way, call anyone a prick on here again, Mod or not and you'll find a lot of doors closing in your face, businesses don't want associations with dodgy characters, particularly given the exposure they get on this forum.

Ok but do YOU understand how that CAN look. No-one has insinuated anything here, but you do seem rather protective if nothing is going on (which we are happy is not).

It seems you guys have beef with the mods, and this little episode (which now has a solution) has given you a platform to vent that beef. Which is a rather strange way of going about it.

Whats the real problem Fish? Jay? Come on boys, stop beating around the bush and let it out. Gassy asking for someones phone number cannot be the reason you are having digs at the mod team. And if it is, then this problem runs deeper than that, and is about something else.

Anybody able to give me a working phone number for

Richard Humphrey (Dicky of London Shock 2) aka CC SPEC OPS UNIT on here.

He needs to sort out a refund for a under insured marker that seems to have been delivered to a wrong address.

A lesson for all here I think.
Bolter, the 2nd two paragraphs of Gassy's original post were not required, and got a nice over reaction from Rich... thats what has happened here.

Then the conspiracy theorists have wet themselves about IPs being the same for more than one user.

I assume I am allowed to voice my opinion in what I see unfolding in this thread?

Of course, anyone is welcome to their opinion. We are not here to moderate opinions (unless they are extreme/offensive/racist)

The over reaction has come from Rich and Rich alone, he is assuming Gassy is being an ar$e, when in fact he is only asking a question/trying to get to the bottom of it. Pointing out the obvious wasnt for Rich's benefit (last two paragraphs) its a 'heads up' for anyone selling expensive items on a free forum. The rules we put in place were made as a guideline and as a helping hand to try to stop situations happening.

When this situation happened, and Gassy dug a little deeper, it started to look like it COULD be dodgy, and this thread was poised to give Spec Ops a chance to un dodgy himself. Which he has, and all is good from our point of view. And now we know that SPEC OPS could be 3 or more people, all the better.

@ medzj2, is everything resolved from your end of things?

We have nothing to hide if you have any problem feel free to contact me or Richard and we can put you straight. Richard is in contact with the buyer now and they are sorting it out between themselves.

Let me put this in words then which you may understand Tommie.

We take potential fraud on this forum very seriously, as do the police. If you don't start being a bit more respectful to those who are trying to help both parties then we'll quite simply forward all the details we've got to the local plod and let them deal with it.
