Don't get me started on the price of cars in Holland. Even though they are cheaper abroad, particularly the US (take the price of a car in the US in dollars, double that, and use the number you get then but just call them Euros instead of dollars and you have the price of a car in Holland), there's no point in importing them. You get slapped with all kinds of import taxes and just-to-annoy-you taxes when you import a car to Holland. The only way to avaoid it is to import it in parts, but when the customs find out that you have imported the parts to make a complete car, you get slapped with them taxes anyway. And perhaps a fine for trying to dodge taxes. Lovely.
