Maybe do a factory reset and start from scratch
You can see what type of connection you are on if you have access to windows live messenger (tools-options-connection)

i think its an cable ethernet modem

it was the exact same like the router that broke previously (which worked both computers)

but this one dusnt seem to wanna be nice

and i dont really know what "DHCP?
NAT or NoNAt?" is tbh sorry

Ethernet Modems only have one Ethernet Port, so if you can plug two or more in, then hopefully it's a router.

As I said before log into the router, do a reset on it from the router page and then start over.

bah ok this is how it is

both of my computers say they are both connected , but both dont actually want to go to the internet

my troubleshoot says "DNS" and "Key ports"

any ideas?

on any pc, click start, then run...
in the run box type : cmd
a box will open in that box type : ipconfig /all

my dad phoned his mate , and basically unplugged the modem ands replugged it then it worked
