Vague title, I know. I'm looking at building a new gaming rig so things I'm looking for:

Intel E8400
socket 775 mobo (pref gigabyte, but post up if you got one going spare)
graphics card, hd46xx/47xx/48xx 1Gb ideally but whatever ya got post up
psu 400W minimum
case, pretty flexible here
ddr2 ram, decent stuff please (ie not value brands)
sataII HDD, pref 160Gb+ 7200rpm

Long shot, I know, but if you have an old rig you want to part out (or even a complete build, ya never know) post up and I might cross your palm with silver
Cheers :)

Hey mate,

I have a PSU going, it's either 550 or 650 W.

I have also got boxes of small parts, cables, brackets, sound cards, controllers............................ Been a bit of a hoarder but I have no need of it.

I'll post up a pic when I get in later.

PS I will have a 775 board going too, once I finally move into a new case and put the XFX 790i in.

Its just the thought of redoing my watercooling loop that has been putting me off.....

got a full i7 rig which i might get rid of because i dont use it enough,

Extreme rampage 2 mobo
i7 920 processor
3gb dominator ram
150GB raptor hard drive
4870 xxx graphics card
xigmatek dark knight cpu cooler
coolermaster 1000w psu

if you would be interested in the full setup the we could work out a price + you could collect as i am in glastonbury

thinking you might need to cross my palm with gold though

Bremner, my budget is only £400-£450 for the whole build, so unless you wanna make me very happy then we can safely assume I'll need to keep looking lol.

Let me know which 775 board it is and I may be interested, unfortunately the psu isn't what I'm after (huntkey have a bad rep for 'splodin). I may have to take some of those sata cables though. Got a dvi cable floating around in there by any chance?

With a bit of shopping around, you could build a good gaming rig for £500 new.

A 4870 1gb is now under 100 notes and is truly awesome. 4 gig ram around 50. Q6600 or better not so much. A good psu around 70.

If you have case and operating system in place then you should try ebuyer etc and go new (warrenty is always nice)

You did mention you have watercooling, if you still have that gear then all the better.

Well, atm I'm doing just that, but with xmas looming ahead I'm looking around for cheaper 2nd hand bits. I'm building from scratch as my current case is rubbish and everything else is unusable legacy stuff. All I have is a copy of win7 ultimate and a monitor lol. What I've got going so far (with a couple of alterations here and there perhaps):

get the extra ram. more bang for the buck and will help the games run smoother. You may be able to run cod6 at full res depending on your monitor size. If you can stretch to quad core as well, it will mean you dont have to upgrade in a years time.

Oh, case fans?? Does the case come with them??
