at the price that most players would be willing to pay, it would be all too easy to find a single freq....and even easier jam it...

If this was true then i would recommend how they do it in remote control cars
They each have a chip that has a specific frequency
when they leave the race the chip is taken out of the slot
now i dont or never have raced remote control cars so i might be a little misinformed
this could work !
a player is eliminated and the judge takes the chip as well as the armband. in order to stop them communicating whilst in the dead box
btw the chip is easily inserted like a gameboy cartridge so i've been told

Man, I hope they don't go with this idea. It's bad enough trying to collect armbands when the action heats up. Trying to get an electronic chip would be a total pain.

And if the radios aren't disabled when someone goes to the deadbox, they can still talk to live teammates. That would make those endgames with one player left alive a lot more 'interesting'

but you see the chip could be the armband
once the ref takes the chip, your out ( just like the armband), you dont need both, so scrap the armbands
have a quick pull cord around the chip and it will be easier to take then an armband
OR
make it easier just a quick release battery
that way no tampering can be done whatsoever

... and into the realm of the crazy

while we're at it, have each chip linked with the player's marker. Each reff has a remote control, they see a player eliminated and zap the chip... no more playing on!

ladies love kewl kid
maybe you guys should put away your markers and play laserdome...
refs with a remote freeze players and/or guns *LOOOOL*, implanted communication devices...implanted steel- wire muscles...
maybe playing in full sensor-plate armour and shoot plastic balls. when you get hit, your suit(which is wired to your gun of course for using smart parts new aiming system which brings a red dot on the screen which was implanted in your eye in decembre 2056 during the off-season)switches off, and you cant move or shoot till the game ends. that would mean: no more bouncers, great, right?

i sound a bit like tj, huh?

This would make cheating sooo easy...just move people back further from the fields and give us stadium seating so we can actually see the field without pushing up against the netting.
