sound to me like the timing is out,
like you guessed its a 2 minute fix if you know what you are doing, so your best bet is to learn to do it yourself.

the timeing can be adjusted via the hole behind the feed neck.
there are loads of web sites that can show you how to do it.

Is that correct then, when I pull the trigger slowly it should fire first, then a bit more and the back block should go back then release and it should move forward?? :)

It shouldn't fire and set the back block back at the exact same time? Would this cause my intermitent chopping?

Just making sure before I fiddle that what is happening can be resolved my adjusting the lug and/or timing rod :)

Cheers

Yes thats right, you can have them set close but NOT at the same time!

Basically you'll be getting sever blowback at the moment!

Thats the bizzare thing though, even though they both happen at the same time, there is very little blowback.

Putting a tissue on the feed and cycling the marker results in the tissue rising maybe 1mm at the most, even when rapid cycling... which is a bit strange, as by all accounts there should be considerable blowback.

Like I said, my Mini is set this close and I'm fine with it. If your only getting intermitant chopping I guess you will have to decide if its acceptable or you can adjust your timeing to increase
your trigger pull, eg turn your lug another 1/4 to 1/2 turn in
and set the trigger backstop screw out a turn or two. For the most part I find chopping is a problem with inconsistant sizes
of paint in a batch. Test a handfull of balls and choose a barrel
to fit the largest and turn up velocity accordingly.
