Slim, you'd be better off starting with the A.I.R. pressure up around the 500-600 mark, if your particular cocker needs higher than the 250 to 275 then you'll likely run into probs doing it the way you suggested.

I'd do it pretty much as you described above, but starting with the main "on-bottle" reg at it's normal point, turn the vert/front reg (the wdp mini reg) right down, then gas up.
One handy hint is to try and get your velocity adjuster about halfway in/out, that way you give yourself that little "room for manouvre" in either direction.

Ok Would This Work.
Put the angel reg on.
Screw the angel reg all the way dowm.
Turn the angel A.I.R output up to 500-600psi.
Slowly turn the angel reg up until the velocity starts to drop, turn it back a 1/4, then fine tune velcoity as normal.
