Its very easy to under estimate a markers velocity...trust me!!
What can happen, is that if the velocity adjuster is too far in, the hammer hits the valve very hard...combined with the wrong input preassure (which can change), the valve stays open longer than usual, which means more air passes through and is therefore less efficient. It doesnt necessarily mean that because more air is going through, you get a higher velocity, because that is what sweet spotting is all about.
you need a chrono, some good paint...or just someone to do it for you!
