With the exception of differing years of 'cockers the bolt length is the bolt length with the back block in the correct postion...that is against the body (no other place for it to be) your bolt will be the same length regardless. To adjust the cocking rod is fine but it won't effect the length of the bolt so all the way forward will still be the same place so the balls will still fall out. You are meaning the rod underneath the bolt ? the pump (or cocking) ( does depend on what you call it) rod down the side of the marker has to be adjusted to ensure the back block does indeed go through an entire cycle. But the bolt can't be shortened.

im talking about the small rod under the bolt you would unscrew it as if you wee adjusting the velocity take it out use a wrench to gip the lug on the back and insert a allen wrench into the back and move it back or forward tightn in up good and reisert it into the gune unitl you can just see a tiny part of the bolt when you look down the feed tube that should solve ne prblems a bwtter instruction and diagrams is a moodypaintball.com

You are talking about the part of the timing setting nothing to do with the bolt....unless you mean by having the marker fire too early in the cycle then you will get burst in the breech (as the ball drops) and as the bolt is moving so you said bolt length. It has already been said but since a ball is loaded and then fired the bolt is already at its furthest point forward and then if you don't fire, the ball (with the barrel pointed down of course ;) ) falls out...it is past the anti-double ball, it is out of the timing sequence, so absolutely nothing to do with the sear lug. Vantrepes (moodypaintballs user name on here) writes some very informative 'cocker articles so next time just link to his site and let the user find the info, being as you couldn't have read either this thread title or Vantrepes's articles......Sorry if this is coming across as a little harsh but 'cockers timed properly are great but people like to fiddle and given the wrong info they are very likely to be in need of an Airsmith.
