An anti siphon is NOT a regulator, and a regulator is NOT an anti siphon. The Max Flo is simply a regulator, it regulates gas flow, and it will help filter out liquid CO2, but an anti siphon is a tube installed in your tank that prevents liquid CO2 from escaping from the bottle, before it can even get into the Max Flo. One is not a substitute for the other, and you'd be best off using BOTH.

Well, nothing currently invented for paintball "evaporates" liquid :) , just some regs are better designed to filter it out than other. The Palmer Stabalizer and Max Flo are both very good at this, but it still wouldn't hurt to install an anti-siphon, just to make sure that a minimum amount of liquid even makes it to the Max Flo.

I never did understand this.. Why do people use an air bottle and fill it with co2?

An air bottle is much more expencive, and once you use co2 you cant go back to putting air in it. so why?

Because, for markers like the shocker sport, which use a hellovalotta gas to fire, there isn't really enough air in the bottle to get a decent amount of shots out. However, co2 in the same bottle gives you a lot more shots (due to it changing to a liquid under the pressure you put it at in the bottle i think)... and the shocker was designed to run on co2 so as long as you have a filter and a co2 max-flo etc. you should be ok :)

NO, he means why did you ruin a $100-$300 bottle that was once capable of containing HPA by filling it with CO2, so that it can no longer hold air? Why not just use a $35 CO2 bottle in the first place?

I agree, it is a strange choice.

a) its not ruined, I could use it on air again, it needs a retest anyway soon.

b) I didn't have a co2 bottle, and i'm not sure whether an air valve (which is left handed thread into the gun) will screw into a co2 bottle

c) A bottle itself is about £30. It may be a 0.8l but this is only a 1.1... it just gets more expensive when you add a reg (which this doesnt have)

I totaly agree that you are _able_ to use air in it again, but the fact is that you shouldnt, co2 is usualy a very dirty gas, it will leave a lot of crap on the inside of the bottle, and if you later use air, it will end up messing up the reg much more quikly than if you hadnt used co2

"i'm not sure whether an air valve ... will screw into a co2 bottle "

My question then, why use an air valve? Again, they are more expencive.

Also, where can you get a 0.8l bottle for £30? I havent seen one for that price, but the fact still remains that a co2 bottle is much cheaper.

I guess i just dont get it.
