Hi Philip,

The marker is much harder to cock than my other Autococker which could mean the spring is too strong.

What should I do if this is the case.

If you are wondering why I have two cockers and know so little about them. I bought this one off Ebay and have spent the last three months trying to get hold of it. In the mean time I bought one from Planet, I needed something for a tourney.

Change the mainspring in the cocker, for a weaker on, or if you dont have one, then cut it down a little bit at a time until it stops leaking and works fine.

Could it be the mainspring is to strong and its pushing the hammer against the valve causing a leak?
That was my first thought, but that should go away when you cock it. My other thought is that whomever he bought it from put in a really light valve spring, or it is just worn to the point where it never seals correctly.

Try this first....

When your gassing up, pull back the cocking rod and hold it as far back as it will go(takes some effort) and slowly gas it up and see if it leaks....if it doesn't....let go of the rod and see if it starts.

I take it you have a cocker:). It would be great to have some of the technical gurus on these forums.
