Not quite so much to whine, really, but more to point out conflict and somewhat disorganization that exists which does in fact hold back the sport. Players are being put to "inconvenience" by having their gear they paid their hard earned money made worthless, cutting into their budget to play. Hurt the players and you hurt the sport. Golf's controversy a year or two about coefficient of restitution (COR) aka "hot drivers" was an example of unhealthy internal conflict within that sport that made for numerous people on both sides look ridiculous and for little to no gain over a miniscule detail affecting few people if any. Manufacturers brought something out, a few people in high places pontificated against it, then a back and forth child like exchange of "Yes I can use it!" "No you can't!" "Yes I can!" "No you can't!" erupted.

It's the desire to end the spec wars, the yip yapping at each other, etc. My suggestion is simply to have the rules not subject to change mid season--only before the beginning of the season and well in advance enough for people to know not to buy anything that will be ruled against, and with a more rigorous standard of need for restrictions to pass. As present, it seems like rules are somewhat willy nilly these days. Will Rodgers said of Congress, and may well have said of paintball governing (hahahaha!) bodies: "Every time they make a joke it's a law, and every time they make a law, it's a joke."

you require what is known as plastising (sp) paint. for a profesional job you want a primer and then a few coats of paint. for a bodge job - plastikote the inside :)

Banned colors are not dumb. The concept of a protected color (in addition to the black and white stripes) makes a whole lot of sense because there are not only judges but others that need to be on-field and need any help they can get not to be hit. That of course includes photographers.

Then having a color that is not (or should not be) allowed means that there is one color you can always count on to give maximum contrast against other color clothing.

I know because last year the Millennium head refs were told they were getting orange and black striped ref's jerseys but got yellow and black instead and then got shot a lot because they had the same color as Infamous, Tigers, Ignition and many others.

I reffed at a local tournament this past weekend and couldn't help but notice how distracting it was to have orange all over the place in the players' clothing. Judges need every break they can get.

But, again, for this to work there can't be any exceptions for players.

For hoppers, keep it simple. Either require single-colored opaque or make it even simpler (as was suggested before on this forum) and allow any color as long as they're black.
