Im like Polyfilla I fill cracks
The Truth is

Paintball is expensive
the largest group of player is 25 -35 in steady well paid jobs

younger people want to try different things have university to go to partying in ibiza anf all the other crazy things

older than that an they become more settled the number of players who quit once married or got a mortgage is frightning
some come back others dont

and this shows why as a percentage there are not many coloured players out there...is it a generalisation to say that they cant afford it because most are in poorly paid jobs...

put you pennys worth to that one

I told myself I wasn't going to get involved in this situation but with comments like that it was inevitable.
MAGGIE ROCKS!!! - Tortoise licker, I can only surmise by that statement that you were at school for the 18 yrs the Torys systematically took away our freedom and ruined this country.
When Thatcher (God it brings a bitter taste to my mouth just saying her name) stood on the steps of 10 downing street and gave the victory salute the wrong way round she wasn't doing it by accident, she was telling us all to @~*& off! We should have known what was coming then.

Enough of the rant and back to the original point.
No the class system in this country does not define how good of a baller you are. Practice, dedication and a sprinkling of natural talent does that.

As for refering to the English bowmen as an example of working class heroes you need to remember it was the law that they practiced archery and so that nothing else got in the way all other sports were banned. If it was the same with paintball we would have a world beating squad.
In fact its still the law that young men in this country practice archery on the village green every sunday.
So, lads, put your markers away and get down to the duck pond...

Whoa!
Knowing how calm and collected John usually is (he singlehandedly is the brains on K2 :D ), seeing this response means that you must have hit a very big nerve there....
Better look for the nearest bombshelter, Tortoise....:p

Thanks for the flame JohnJ and yes I was at school for the majority of the Thatcher years, (as were most of the people who frequent these boards). I understand that many people hold resentment to Maggie and what she did to this country, but you have to admit that we never had it better then when she came to power and under her government. Her government took over after Labour had crippled the country by allowing the unions to bring the nation to a standstill. And yet within a few short years the power of the union was dissolved and with it the might of the Japanese industry came to our shores. They made it okay to be middle class and encouraged the entrepreneur to make their fortunes. Also Maggie was held in esteem by the American administration with her being regarded as an equal to Reagan, not Bush’s lap-Dog like Blair. Also in the Thatcher years the nations armed forces were still a force to be reckoned with yet after New Labour took control. They have downsized and downsized until we have a tiny military presence, which is a very bad thing given the current world climate. What would happen if the Argies attacked the Falklands now? It’s no good sending down a few Minesweepers and an army with guns that don’t work. Okay so when she resigned as leader of the conservatives the nation started to go downhill dramatically but this isn’t her fault.
Also if the Tory party is so bad why is ‘New Labour’ modelled on it ???
Thats my rant over and no doubt I will get Flamed again. Oh well we all have our own views and feelings
Oh and I fall into the P8ntball a-hole segment:D

Ask the TonTons if they have heard of Agincourt, I doubt if they have. But I bet they have heard of Castillion, the battle that finally drove the English out of France.

It wasn't the footsoldiers (working class) that lost France it was poor leadership (Upper class). Nothing changes!

I knew there had to be more to this gig. OK, guys, somebody tell me where the scantily clad women are and if you can't manage the ladies I'll settle for the pool. :)

Mark--you left out a couple of categories.

Paintball Yoda--possesses the accumlated wisdom of the paintball ages (kay, couple a decades tops) but doesn't behave like normal ballers (loud, obnoxious and aggressive) nor look like a baller yet will smoke some fools all day long without cracking a smile.

Paintball Idiot Savant--a complete moron who doesn't seem capable of chewing gum and tying his shoes simultaneously yet put him on the field and without having a clue will start busting moves all over.
