Can you save a life? Fix a hangnail?

Thanks for the input guys, and for the compliments, but this has been covered in many magazines, it just finally hit home for me, and I wanted to share. I believe Tyger may have written one about it for PGI actually, he should certainly know enough about injuries.;)

Yeah, like with most everything, we have a meeting today over the whole incident and what to do in case it happens again. We're quite normally a step behind.

My friend is unfortunately still in the hospital, he recognises his immediate family now, but apparently is still cloudy-headed. CAT-scan and MRI didn't show any problems, so they're now looking into his medication. We'll soon know.

Bummer :(
Hope the guy gets better.
Oh by the way, you can fix a hangnail by cutting a v into the centre, eases the pressure and makes the nail grow toward the centre ;)

The average response time for the Fire Department is right around 5 min.
Very impressive: the London ambulance service is trying to bring it's reponse time down to 8 minutes. At the moment , the average call takes about 12minutes. We have awaful twisty, tight streets and heavy traffic congestion, no automated tracking systems. The two times I've had to call out the emergency services, they took almost 15 minutes, although they were relatively low priority. I even had to direct the cops to me as they couldn't find the street I was on!
Don't collapse in London! (unless you happen to be with me, then you'll be okay)

Don't remind me. I just got the cast off today. I had to play in it against my will. ((grumble))

And, yes, I wrote an article saying that, basically, refs need to have at least basic first aid trianing for just such a reason. (I'm tired, and going to bed now...)

For those who don't know it, I posted 4 scenarios on RSP and asked for feedback. All of them were about players injuring themselves on the field. One was a groin hit, one was a broken leg, and so on. The point I wanted to make is that there's no standards, and there's no training given to deal with trauma on a paintball field. Your only 'hope' is if you happen to be playing with a doctor or a medic of some kind!

I personally think that refs should take at least basic first aid as a ref crew for just that reason.

Ok, enough out of me. I'm going to find a bed that will be myfriend and hug it.
