Do you have a QEV in your ION??

Standard is 52 beeps, which is 12.5 for the Dwell...so you may find your dwell was low, as Mike said.

Did you use a Chrono?

The QEV's I use, run well at 10 beeps..

And in the owners manual its says: If the ion shoots down or low, change the battery in the marker....

So it might just be a simple battery problem...
