Campaign Draw - WTF?

This whole 'some Am A teams get one Pro, some get 2' thing was bugging me, so I took a closer look at the draw.

Now I might well be wrong, and if I am call me a **** and ignore this post, but as I took ourselves and Powertrip as examples, and where we play two Pro teams and two Novice teams, Powertrip play one Pro and three Novice.

Now, if we presume that all Pro teams beat their Am A teams and all Am teams beat their novice teams - which SHOULD be the case - then Powertrip effectively have a huge advantage over us from the start.

Now someone please tell me I'm being thick and have read that wrong, cos if I'm right that seems like a major ****ing injustice to me...

My opinion,
Rookies should play Rookies,
Nov's should play Nov's,
Am's should play Am's,
Pro's should play Pro's.

Not sure what the logistics involved would be but that's what I'd prefer to play!

Searching for the pro-tour....:S
pro v pro, am v am etc.

Well persaonlly I'd perfer to play a mix.

Gives you a chance to measure your game against better players.
Having said that we did better against AM B's at the DMA than we did against other novice teams!

But I suppose if we all played within our division then you would get a result based on who is really the best from a class rather than who got lucky. i.e. A good proteam gets a draw against some top Am A sides, drops a few games and misses out while a poor pro-team (This is relative to other pro's, i'm not calling anybody poo!), gets an easy draw from the bottom of Am A, makes the games and goes through.

Just my 2p's worth.

I had already identified a simliar problem within the pro ranks and the only way around this is to create a slightly more sophisticated scheduling program (which I am pretty sure Beard could do) and then to control the number of teams who enter each bracket to specific number bands.
A blanket entry policy will in most cases lead to a schedule whereby these anomalous groupings will be inevitable.
It is unfair for sure but until we adopt the policies I suggest or we play inter-bracket (pro v pro, am v am etc) then the unfairness will continue for a lot of teams.

How about the old self seeding format as used in the mayhem woodland tournies a few years back

Eveyone is seeded as usual for day 1 and then placed in descending points order on day 2..

May be worse than you thought, Duff. Whole other side of the A draw only play one Pro, so regardless of what the "other" game they have is, those A teams with two Pros are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to making the cut.

And how is it Shockwave only play 4 Pro games when every other Pro team in both halves play 5?
