accomodation

For really cheap accomodation, use the camp site situated across Crystal Palace Park on junction of Westwood Hill/Crystal Palace Parade. Run by Camping & Caravanning Club GB i think...or one of those camping clubs. Its about a 5 min walk thru the park to the sports stadium. There are a number of small hotels in the surrounding areas of Penge, Sydenham, Norwood & Dulwich (Within 2 miles of CPP) which mainly offer B&B. Public transport from all these areas is good by bus as Crystal Palace is one of the main bus terminals in SE London.

transport

In addition to above... Transport from Gatwick easy peasy... Train from Gatwick to East Croydon, change train there & take one to Penge West. (occasionally have to change again at Norwood Junction depending on time of day you travel) Crystal Palace Park just across road to the right from station exit on same side as you get off. Follow main path thru park up hill to stadium. Trains also run from London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charing Cross direct to Penge West but remember to cross train line & exit station on other side of track at Penge West. Or from Victoria, trains to Crystal Palace Station direct. Come out of station turn right up hill at main road & entrance to park is on your right.

2 fields in the Stadium, one on AStro pitch and three on new field other side of players area. So The fields will be big!
So 5 fields on grass and one on Astro?

If this is the case can anyone who played the astro last year tell me how cleats perform on it and i heard that clothing got ripped to **** if you slid on it? Is this true and if so how did knee/shin pads fair last year (esp Rase pads)?

Thanks!

We used the camp site last year and it was close and convenient. There were a few other teams there too which did not make it too bad. Nice facilities too.

The player passes do last till the end of the millenium series so Campaign will be the last one.

With regards to Astro turf, it rips the $hit out of your clothes, our JT's were shredded by the end of the weekend and that was from only with 2 fields on astro. Cleats performed ok on it last year from what I could tell and as an alternative surface it played well, just takes a bit of getting used too.
