I would like to say that on the whole the tounament was really good. Lots of trade stands to view and every field could be watched with ease, I was watching the game on the Tomahawk field with Menace and Zone.

It was a 1 on 1 and the poor guy in the snake was all over the place at one point i thought Menace was going to clean up but this player was not having none of it and some how took out the Menace player but all the time he was telling him how annoyed he was that he could not get him to move into his paint and that he was really pissing him off he had the crowed roaring with laughter and how the poor judges did not laugh I will never know. Of all the games I watched over the week end that by far was the funniest ending to one.

Syd from DOA who are you nominating for sandbagging the novice event?

I have a couple of ideas who wrote it, but I wish I saw it! I nearly fell on the floor reading this post just now.

There were all sorts of comments up there over the weekend.

Some opinions, some already mentioned by others:

Positive:
* Venue in general
* AIR FILLS++++
* Decent food and beer available on location
* Grass and astroturf
* lots of helpful people on the staff + continous cleaning of the staging area

Neutral:
* Field layout (some real good, some not)
* staging area, good setup, but why not designated tables? That + most theft reports i have heard so far from a Mill. this year puts staging in the "neutral" category instead of "positive". (btw if anyone has seen my red Raven key pouch with allen sets, matrix spares, leatherman, etc LET ME KNOW)
* netting. Generally good and safe but for example between the JT and the Tomahawk (possibly also JT - Raven) paint was POURING in onto the other field in some games.
* Marshalling. Differed from field to field, but didn't suck in general. JT and RPS refs seemed to have the best control of what they where doing)

Negative:
* Fences! Lot of unnecessary walking which, in combination with:
* slow starts of games by refs led to:
* late schedule (on semi days we where 40 minutes behind already when we played the second game of the day...)

In general a really, really good tournament

Sandbagging has already been discussed elsewhere and those teams know who they are. Not a big gripe from me anyway. As long as people abide by the categorising rules I don't personally have a problem. Just wonder how it affects those teams playing Nov or Am B for their first time?

it was our first time at campaign and well we are still in total shock none of us can believe what has happened some of us even cancelled our hotel rooms for the sunday night as how we read our division was hard. We just played as hard as we could as a team and with heart. All i can say is wow and we have no fcuking idea what to do now, In a way 4 days a go we were concentrating on even more training because our last 2 events we have fallen apart. It has cost us a fcuking lot of money on paint as we went for the best ball money could buy and i really think that has a lot to do with it as well as all the training with teams such as uk marshalls 1 +2 tigers , blackstar , feral jesters,Monkey Love. and watching people like DOA, Ectasty,and most of our challengers and also lots of dvds of the pros playing .. so all we hope for now is some sponsership to help us on to the next stage of paintball ..

lot of plusses already mentioned...

but...
not impressed with the layout. I mean, it's not as if it's actually in the stadium is it?
the hundred mile walk to some of the fields, coupled with the faxt that the place is labyrinthine anyway....
netting between fields 6 and the angel field... spectators on the banks gettin shot... not good
toilets... 4 portaloos, some toilets in the bar and some toilets you needed a map to find... not really enough for 160 teams is there?
Jobsworth security guards... not letting us through the back to walk 25yds to the phoenix stand which was in plain sight, so we had to walk about half a mile...
and pikeys. dont forget the pikeys....

just my opinion, not my teams or sponsors or anything like that (because i dont wanna get in the sh!t on this one)... just speakin my brain.

besides which, good event!!!

I've put my views in the "campaign cup coverage" thread from a spectators point of view. It wasn't spectator friendly from a point of encouraging non paintballers.

Otherwise from what I saw it was extremely well set up for the players.
