I use a gopro and did see this mount. The only issue I see with this is that I am right handed and would use on my left like you, but you would normally be using your left shoulder up against a baricade or something so you may not see footage in front of you. Have never used this so would have to see if it works ok.

@ carbon it look a good mount simple and secure but... i might be wrong here, the camera looks very close to the users face, i'm thinking if you are waring a mask the camera might get in the way. saying that tho. the mount from the shoulder pad to the camera looks the same as mine and you might be able to use it left and right handed as well as positioning the camera by adding more brackets

I've used an interesting setup, which was a Contour mounted on a boom attached to the helmet out in front, so looking back whilst you run/dive/shoot. Makes for some good clips when blended in with normal style footage.

Also boom coming up from the centre of the back looking down makes for some good clips, kind of like the 3rd person being talked about here.

Has anyone done a barrel mounted GoPro?

That's the trick, you've got to adjust your gameplay to not only shoot but to remember your also filming

The gopro needs a case. Standard waterproof case so no real added weight or bulk.
(Note gopro do not support paintball as an activity, so if damaged by a hit there is no warranty)
Depending on how/where it's mounted a gopro can be bulky due to its style/shape

Contours are more 'sleek', and are also impact resistant. I've never had lens issues following a direct hit. A teammate did require a warranty fix following a rear direct hit shooting in the rear push button

I've a contour since picking one up when they were released. I've never had a problem and my original Contour is still working after taking many many shots
