Why doesn't Millenium just scrap 7-man entirely and try XBall Lite?
Probably a kind of slow disconnecting from 7 man, as in the past PSP disconnect from 10 man. PSP still had 10 man for 2003 and 2004. MS board probably doesn't want to lose costumers, but slowly change their minds. They tried the aggressive approach back in 2004, with Open X-ball division and that was kind of a flop.

So I figure a’ lot of people will be all mushy with the 7 man format, but some will surrender to x-ball lite sooner or later.

I mean, I love 7 man. But there is something much better on all the basis of x-ball, it stops being a ‘boys with guns’ game of 7 minutes, to a real sports game.

Jaime.

P.S. Sorry for the huge off topic... :D

Good point but then what of the teams that do enjoy the 7man format? From the perspective of those teams i think scrapping the 7man format straight away would prove unpopular. It would seem the millenium is going to gradually introduce the xball format over a more extended period of time - but ay least it is happening! :D :)

If you take away 7-man, either they learn to like XBall or they quit. The question is, will more people play if it's XBall than quit if it's not 7-man?

if there is no more 7 man then there is no more money for your X-ball.....

We want to play xballl. That's all.

Thx
Totally understand, which is why I mentioned the format as an issue in my original post. Spot buying is always going to be contentious, as is the format as the above posts prove. You (in the buying) and the MS (in the format) will never please everybody. Fortunately you have little to lose, where as the MS getting it wrong (As with the EXL) have a lot to lose. Its all part of the evolution of paintball however and for all the procrastinating ballers love on forums, ultimately most will just go with the flow. Good luck where ever you end up playing. As with the format, well at my age I'm just happy playing

That would depend upon the uptake, which previous attempts to change format have proven to be minimal. The format being used now however is much more likely to succeed than previous editions but if you were in the MS's shoes would you go all out or introduce slowly as they have been ?? Players may say they what this and that, but its the MS taking the risk when they put on the events and whilst they have no competition ala PSP V NPPL they have less reason to take the risk and change format if they can play both and get the income from both
