does anyone know if burst disk sizes for co2 and nitro are the same?

reason im asking is because my burst disk ruptured at sc village paintball park and i bought a new one there, but the gun tech was not there and i didn't know how or still don't know how to put it in. so i had it installed at a xs sports close to where i live. the thing is, i did not bother to check the psi limit on the disk itself. so im not sure if i have a burst disk for a co2 tank (which i have) or a nitro/hpa tank. it would be very unpleasant if my tank blows up under my arm.

so do any of you guys know if only a nitro tank burst disk can only fit on a nitro tank......and vice versa with a co2 burst disk?

or should i just go to my local paintball shop and have them take out the leftover co2 and check the burst disk for me?

i would prefer info from you guys since im very cheap on gas.

thanks

If I remember rightly a CO2 burst disk is rated for 1200psi, so tops it will burst about 1800/2000psi whereas air/nitro burst disks are rated a lot higher. It is not safe to but anything else but the correct burst disk. If you are not sure take it to your nearest store and get it checked

there are actually 3 different burst discs in use in paintball i think (could be wrong) one is for co2, one is for 3000psi and one for 4500psi
put a co2 disc in an air system and it will pop the first time you fill as will a 3k disc in a 4.5k system, put a 4.5k disc in a 3k system and it will work BUT will not do anything, ie if you over fill the bottle you risk the bottle EXPOLDING......very f!ing dangerous

if you are not 110% about what you are doing with pressurised air and/or co2 systems leave it alone and take it to somone that does know........its not worth risking your life or that of others over a burst disc

I believe 3k is the CO2 one, that's what's on my bottles, anyone know for sure?

I wouldnt imagine 3k being used on a 3k air bottle, seeing as there's no room for error and the tanks are built to take much more than the 3000psi (I hope!)

when i said there is one for co2, one for 3k and one for 4.5k i was meening that that is what they are for use with not that that was their burst pressure

bottles are tested well beyond their working pressure

Back to the burst disks:

On my Pure Energy 0.8 3k preset, the burst disk nuts only have 1 hole in the top centre of each, rather that the 2 opposing ones on the side you find on a CO2 one. I always assumed this so they cancel eachother out and thus stop the bottle from rocketing. Anyway, is there any particulare reaon behind this?

air system bottles are like tested under 5 times there normal pressure or 4 i think and even then they have to sustain it safely!! but dont overfill they do this because of the tanks life and general safety, but still dont even put over 1 psi more! :)
