Marshals with goggles off.
Having read some of the postings in this and other threads below , I thought I'd just add my 2 pence worth.
Firstly , I think most of you are talking about the guys on the Hyperball field ( Rushers ). These guys are very experienced players and marshals. I agree that it is dangerus to take your goggles off in an area where guns are allowed , ( you are taking risks you dont need to take ) , but give these guys a bit af credit. They aren't MORONS. They made sure guns were safe before they came on field ( after Chorno ) and they stayed behind the dividing netting to avoid shots from other fields , so even though they took risks , they made these risks minimal on the day.
Second , If any of you out there have marshalled a tourny like this one , you would realise how nasty it is wearing your goggles constantly for 8 hours. You do something like 30 games straight without a bye , its not nice. For those of you who have not marshalled , try going to work for a day , and wear your goggles the whole time. I bet they come off before an hour is up!!
The solution to the problem is very easy and simple. Just hang a legth of netting around half a dozen trees to form a small safe area next to the field were marshals and unarmed players can stand. However even this has a risk of a ball coming through it. Just like in any safe area around the country. Nowere is totally safe , especially when people dry fire thier guns in the ' safe ' area.
Just my feelings on the subject.
By the way , well done Dan and all the marshalls. But can you book some dry weather for next time , My 4x4 ditched after pulling so many people off the field. Oh well , it all washes off. Hope you enjoyed the ouzo we left. See You Soon.
