My favourite has always been "fanny" meaning 'ass' to Americans and , er, something else to Brits. It's great when Americans walk into my outdoors shop and ask for a fannypack!
Of course I'm South African so it's all Greek to me
Buddha 3, I used to live in Soesterberg when that American base was there. I also lived in a small town outside Utrecht. I love it there. Beautiful country you all have.
Ja , en dar is 'n gooie kans dat jy dit sal verstaan! But Afrikaans (and hence Dutch) is my second language and I only learnt in the Army, so I know mostly swear words and military terms.
Darkwerks: It's always the dirty stuff they teach first, particularly in the army....
Ro0ster: Bike in Dutch is fiets, and it means bike. Rooster on the other hand means 'Weirdo American that will get his @$$ beat when he comes over'. Honest.
