New tanks (tanks manufactured 02 and 03, I believe) have a 5 year test date, and some, but not all old one's are like that too. That's what I've heard, and I don't drink.

i posted recently on two incidents concerning a cylinder tester, he said my full wrap hse cylinder was good for 5 years. the first time i queried him and he said it was new legislation, although i didn't personally see it (this tank was a SP dual test off of a max flow 4500) second time was a friend who was told and shown documentation to prove the same thing. he didn't get any copies of the document as it would of cost 30 squids. however the cylinder testing facility is very well known in the south and does the majority of the testing in hampshire. not tryin to stir anything, just suggesting that this could be a reason for you not having a new sticker or certificate, but still being told it's in date

I spoke to h-pac the other day, and they said that certain manufacturers of hse-al-fw2 bottles, have been given dispensation for a first test of 5 years after the date shown. Not all bottles have this but this may change soon. My angel air bottle is a 3 year test, it has a C with an L inside it.

Xenos, the test is due 3 or 5 years after the date shown on your bottle, and it is useable up to the end of the month shown.

Well Xenos, if it's a 3 year it's definitely out of date. As sean said, there wil be an identifying sticker on the bottle stating the new test date, if it was tested.
Try contacting H-pac on 01902 494988, they may be able to help you regarding the claimed test that was done. If you ask them about the 5 year test, they will tell you which bottle types are 5 year, or 3.
