Hi guys n girls, got a problem with reading the hydrotest on a bottle i have just picked up 2nd hand. I dont know how to read them :confused:

hopefully here is a picture....


all i really want to know is:
. am i right in thinking it needs a retest in the 10th month of 2006.
. is it ok to use this bottle in UK tournaments?
. can i get it retested by H-paq? (sp?)

:- as others have said it needs a retest now

:- yes it will be fine once it has passed it's test

:- yes you can i get it retested by H-paq n/p
or you can get it done at Remar Safety Services Caerphilly 01222 860416 which is much closer to you

Think Mr Budge is spot on with the 5yr test

and bottle will be ok to use in US as is both to DOT and HSE standard, but I think it may probably need a DOT test before you use it there ...:)

What happened to the line of thinking that once a cylinder has been tested to DOT specs (subjected to higher pressure testing than HSE) then it can no longer be classified as an HSE cylinder? I assume in order to receive the DOT stamp it would have had an initial test at the higher DOT pressure?

And i think you'll find it's 3 years from date of manufacture as the cylinder was manufactured before July 2003 . After the initial 3 year test it should become 5 years.
