there are no hydrocarbons present so wont go bang, they were specifically designed for use with highly explosive gases

Grease is thicker and from what I have seen not flammable (some types are though).

Can somebody correct me on this?

they make oil and grease, compressor use the oil so that they can compress highly explosive gases, very expensive tho i beleive

simple answer get educated about your hpa with a course on it the UKPSF do one or go to walkons at ypc in yorkshire where it is the same course and its free on the day

I am the one that is scared mate!
This is twice now that this has happened while I have been close enough to be hurt. My brother has also has a near miss.

People should be frightened by the fact that others are willing to take your life in their hands because these tanks may be ok afterall.
