boomsticks...?

i see many diferent boomsticks, all with different names and symbols on them... i just dont get it?.... a boomsticks a boomstick right?:confused:
for instance.. my boomstick as a wavy Z symbol on it????
dose this make it different from a dye?
if they are all diffrent wich one is the best?

Right...back in the day..Dave Youngblood...designed a barrel for himself..it was v.good...people wanted them...he went into business and DYE was born.
Original boomstick...all stainless...not unscrewable...pricey.
New boomies two peice all steel.
Ultralight boomies are aluminium..lighter, cheaper but less robust.
Titanium boomies...v light, v robust..v expensive!!
You can now by sepaerate backs in .686, .688 and .692..and fronts in different lengths.

ok..... so they are all the same...but jsuyt different makes???

mine is two peice it has a heavy back (presumably its steel)
and the front is light (aluminium)

is threre any differences in preformance?
depending on the make of the boomie?

Ist not even slightly close...new? boomsticks are stainless back and ally front and glued together...NEW version is stainless back and ally front screwed together.

The Boomstick "style" is copied all over look at the JT barrels, the system X ones..even the Kaner are a "rip" of the Ultralights, or even the Empire kit...truly unique barrels were the brass J&J with the straight rifling..by unique I mean no one seems to have copied them ;)

Sorry about that...I was under the impression that the first barrels that Dave made were of all steel construction.
