hi guys
just come to time my eclipse cocker and i've found something that i cant quite understand
i think it's a mk1 blade frame (removeable trigger shoe and only 1 adjuster that i can find). The hole tin the trigger plate itself look too big for the timing rod. the first part of the trigger pull (3mm or so) the timing rod doesnt move at all. weas just wondering if this was normal cos i want a shorter pull if poss.
cheers

you mean it has an elongated hole instead of a perfect circle?
thats normal. I "think" its meant to help prevent short stroking or something.
But it was a modification that was an upgrade not a mistake. Sorry i cant help more.

The slotted timing rod hole is meant for allowing more time for the sear to release and the firing sequence to occur before the 3 way switches. Such allows for less blowback and more air efficiency with a larger margin for error when timing the Cocker. This is more as an accomodation for old style 2 oring, longer pull 3 ways than new style such as the DYE and Shocktech Bomb which use 3 orings on the shaft and reverse hose pattern. Round hole plates can be used with them with more comfort and ultimately a shorter trigger pull--you could do round hole plates with a 2 oring 3 way, but it takes much more time and experience to successfully do so, and the timing must be reset more often.
