If you set your primary AIR reg to the required 'into gun' pressure, and wind your BM out to supply a higher pressure it will act just as a gas through, as the input pressure to it will be less than its output pressure, so the reg will not do anything.

Ahhhh...I think what you're trying to say is that you should set your AIR reg. on your gun to whatever you normally would set it for chrono-ing, set your bottle reg. to whatever you normally would for going into the AIR reg. on the Mag (say 650psi), and then set the BM reg. for a pressure higher than that (say 800 psi or whenever the BM stops restricting the flow of air), the BM will act as a gas-through grip...except for the smaller air passages.
I'm guessing that SB is confusing the AIR regulator on the bottle of an Angel AIR with the AIR regulator that's on the back of an Automag. Last time I check, "A.I.R." was engraved on that regulator and AGD referred to it as the "AIR regulator". Just clairfying :)
