British humour in german never really translates well. pity that.

Well...its like..some languages dont have a suitable word, Germans dont have a suitable replacement for "Humour" do they..at least it is very rare, for example "The funny German" on Chris Moyles show..is one of very few with a sense of humour that they are aware of.
Still...they have some funny words, which were the source of much mirth back in the day...Fahrt..for instance, meaning to travel (I think) and of course, telling your teacher to "Pas auf" (no funny B thing)..."haupt dein mund" (sp) was quite good too!
