best way to ship to netherlands

I have just sent an etek 3 to the states using Fed Ex/Parcel to go.

Marked down as "Other Sporting Equipment" Description: Paintball Marker trigger frame housing.

The guy asked me if it had any paint in it, I said no. (it didn't). That was all he was concerned about.

He was a very nice guy though, maybe I got lucky.

just don't say it's a gun, 'cos it isn't. The likelihood of a customer service agent seeing the difference between a real gun and a paintball marker is very low. As you have seen, they will opt for the safest choice. Which, for them, is "No".

Next time I'll just ask if they ship a 'paintball marker trigger frame housing".

The guy said he would ship it, if it doesn't contain any liquid! But then when I used a different phrasing he said 'no'. So I guess it's OK to ship!

for the USA I always mark my parcels as 'pneumatic paint applicator', because thats what it is.

you don't need to state the contents on EU parcels as they don't need a customs label according to my local post office
