God I hate that s**t. Huddles and screaming and stuff makes sense in a physical game, but for the most part, paintball is all mental.
Can you imagine golfers doing that kinda crap? Both games are about technique and fine muscle control. Sure, in paintball you have to run and dive and have good cardio conditioning, and in golf you have to walk a lot, but the real part of the sport is in the fine control and quick reading of lots of details to make complex decisions.
I stretch before I get on the field. I might do some jumping jacks or something to keep the blood flowing if it is cold. I try to be on my own and meditate or focus on even, deep breathing. My team invariably hoots like chimpanzees that just got fed. I just play better when I am relaxed. I tell my team that I need something different than the rest of them, so please respect that (and go pick up my pods
