Just about....
Anyway, that's beside the point. My point is that paintball in the USA is in a much better state than paintball in the UK and Europe. Europe has maybe 3 ''Pro'' teams that come close to being able to compete with the US's 10 odd top Pro teams. And I don't really see it getting all that much better over here. In general players I've met from the States are more motivated and committed than their UK counterparts. Also, they have a MUCH bigger pool of players to choose from making more Pro teams possible.
Of course the more good teams you have, the more good teams you are gonna get because they can train against eachother and we all know that you get nowhere fast training agaist guys that are not significantly better than you. Also, more players = bigger market = more support for higher level teams enabling them to train and play enough to stay good and improve.
I don't think that its impossible for the UK to turn out a decent Pro team but its damned hard. The Russians have proved that it can be done thru properly structured and focused training, and we'll see how it goes for Nexus. As they well know, Nexus have really got their work cut out for them, much more so than if they were a new team in the States.
Personally I think that with X-Ball and everything developing Stateside and that discounting some great teams from playing in Europe, its not gonna help the state of paintball over here one bit.
Just my cynical view
Depends which end of it you're on. Immigration is people coming in, emigration is people going out, so I guess we're both right seeing as I'm here and he's there.Originally posted by Smally85
.... emmigrate- to go to another country
immigrate- to come as a settler into another country.
So the British would call a Frenchman who moved to England an immigrant, and we would say a Brit who moved to France was emmigrating.
(Make sense?)
