TEAM S.W.A.T. WAS FORMED IN 1989 BY PAUL KNAGGS.
CLASSED AS A NOVICE/YOUNG GUN TEAM, THE TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE DAY WERE PUMP ACTION RIFLES & PISTOLS FITTED WITH 12 GRAM GAS BULBS AS THE FORM TO PROPEL THE PAINTBALL FROM THE MARKER (GUN).
TEAMS OF THE ERA WERE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN AND THE MARKER (GUN) SPEC WAS BASIC AND EXPENSIVE. MARKER TECHNO ALSO LEAPED WITH SUCH GUNS AS THE BUD-ORR SNIPER BEING ONE OF THE MOST ACCURATE PUMP GUNS ON THE MARKET AS WELL AS A CURRENT MARKER THE PMI - TRACER WHICH INCLUDED SLAM FIRE WHICH IS A PUMP RAPID FIRE MODE. SEMI-AUTO MARKERS STARTED TO APPEAR IN THE INDUSTRY THE FIRST ONE'S BEING THE PMI-3 OR VM68 WHICH WAS A GAS BLOW BACK SEMI-AUTO, EARLY SEMI-AUTO'S VERY HEAVY AND GAS HUNGRY.
THE SNIPER MARKER LATER EVOLVED INTO THE AUTO-COCKER WHICH TODAY IS A FAVOURITE MARKER FOR PRO TEAMS ACROSS THE WORLD WITH ENHANCEMENTS TO THE MARKER MADE FAMOUS BY PAINTBALL PLANET IN MANCHESTER WITH IT'S RANGE OF ENHANCEMENTS IN THE FORM OF THE ECLIPSE MARKERS. IN 1993 THE TEAM REFORMED WITH IT'S REGULAR PLAYER BASE AND HIT THE TOURNAMENT SCENE ACROSS THE UK ACHIEVING 1st 2ND & 3RD PLACES IN SOME PRESTIGE TOURNAMENTS. AS S.W.A.T.
