No, was in a shop and the guy was giving me options and from what I’ve seen for the kind of Paintball I’m mostly likely to play (once a month or so) then the Emek will be perfect I think

Are you looking to play woodsball or speedball? I like the emek, but if you're looking to play any faster game styles like sup'air or move to the tournament, my personal opinion is to pursue electro second hand.

Regardless, I wish you the best, paintball is paintball, and a brand new marker is a really nice thing!

I’d LOVE to go for Sup Air but I don’t have the money man Unfortunately being an adult has to come first in terms of responsibilities so right now it’s not something I’d be able to put time into

I guess you're the only person that can consider your priorities, and the emek is undoubtedly a decent bit of kit, but I think that you have options with an electronic marker here that you can build on as life and times change. With a mech marker you're limited to its capabilities, but with an decent electronic marker you can turn down the rates to match the mech guns (and save on the paint bill) but can be switched up if you do an event where the fire rates are higher, or try your hand at tourneyball. I think that's the point being made above, with an electronic gun you can be more flexible than you can be with a mech.

That said, you're not going to be let down by an Emek and PE are awesome, when I got back into paintball they were my first call for a second hand marker and I've not regretted it, but with my electronic gun I can switch the settings to suit where I play and I can't do that with my old mech guns, they play how they play.

Just adding onto this and the expense. I just got back into it, and bought a Dye NT11 for £130, a 10 year old high end!

I also played supair at Mayhem Romford for £50, green fee and 2000 paintballs! An emek is 2.5x the price of my marker! Spend a little time understanding the second hand markers out there, and like cube said, you will still have the flexibility to change your rate of fire to 5bps semi, or 10.4bps ramp when or if you play tournaments! If your heart is set, by all means go ahead, but I've been playing since 2003 on and off and know what markers I like and what I don't!

I mean no disrespect. Just everyone’s able to devote loads of time and energy into their hobbies and I wish I could do that too but with work and personal stuff it’s just not going to happen. Maybe in a few more years

I’ll be honest, this is the first time I’ve looked into Paintball properly rather than just a laugh with some mates. I’m going to go on a few Walkons and some events for the rest of the year, hopefully will meet some people who’ll let me try some different guns etc and see where I’m at around Christmas.

I’m trying to get some money saved for a PS5 too but I may hold on that one and go for a decent Marker.......I know there’s a good second hand Market but for my first gun I’d like to buy it new If I can have

My dude. The emek is not 2.5x the price... They are £200 brand new £245 if you get them with the pops ASA.

Honestly if you've never used one.. you are missing out, I have an nt too so I'm not uneducated on this.

Every walk on I've played since buying my emek has seen me use that more than any of my electro markers... Which come out as soon as I hit the airball field.

There's just something so much more satisfying about playing in the woods with those eclipse markers, no anodising to scratch... No batteries to change. (One of my regular crew literally hoses his off after game days and dumps it back in the bag).
