barrel opinions.

looking to get a barrel set when my viking comes, just wanted to find some first hand opinions or a few.
was looking for either a set with inserts, or different size backs.
so far ive looked at the powerlyte scepter, evil pipe, empire kit and the freak kit.
ive had a look around briefly on the company websites, but have only used the freak.
one other thing, is it possible to anno the barrels?
so any opinions would be great

ive never used any of these barrels with inserts as i personally think that there are too many places it can miss align etc....

my personal choice is dye barrels, i had boomsticks for ages and have just recently swapped to an ultalite mainly due to building a light weight marker....you can get different bore sizes but not easily.

i quite like the look of the pipe tho.

annoing barrels aint a prob at all, have a look at www.furysports.co.uk they did a smart job of juds cocker....i think belsales do annoing too

Have owned and used the Freak and the scepter. The Scepter was a lot more sturdy a build quality, and the way the inserts lined up was a lot better than the freak system. The inserts actually lock in place between the front and back, unlike the freak which just slides in the rear piece. They also feel sturdy like a boomstick, unlike the freak which felt a bit 'cheap' to me

Tried to get hold of another scepter for my cocker but Pheonix appear to have stopped doing them

As for annodising, like Matt said Fury is a good place, and so is Belsales and LPS It has to be all alu though to annodise for obvious reasons.

have read all about the hammerhead, but what about the cost. bleeding hell, will be over 200quid i reckon over here.

cheers for yours and jahlads help, ive been looking at the empire, as they have them in at phoenix, so this looks like the the most likely choice so far. was also interested in the scepter, but as you say, there aint none

Debateing the Empire 4 piece myself

They look nice, but not too sturdy from what some people have said, think Dicky from SAD managed to shear one clean in half by the threads which ain't good...

Debateing just ordering a powerlyte direct from the US, they are that good

ive had a word with phoenix, and know they have empire in 4 and 10 piece, but to be honest, i know i wont use the 5 tips, as im only going to use the 14, maybe the 12, but 14 suits me fine. so unless they have any of the 7 piece kits, im still pondering the scepter.

also the empire has a stainless back, but im sure you can get the whole scepter in aluminium, so i can gte it annoed to match my new marker
