I think most marshals would give you a talking to for doing that, especially if they notice the whole team doing it as a tactic.

you have to take the shortest way to the deadbox.
According to Millenium rules (I think most tournaments in Europe use MS rules) talking after beeing hit is dead man talk and will be punished with a 1-4-1
As far as i know, in the UK, you cant do anything to aid your team mates in anyway once you're eliminated, this including 'conveniently' getting in the line of fire of an opponent even if it is the quickest route of the field as most fields say to do.
