I believe it's not so much an expiration date as a "can only be tested x times" as each test puts an amount of stress on the bottle.

Don't think so, I've a dive tank that must be 16/17 years old and still tests fine, unless they have been damaged or start to deteriorate/corrode you just keep taking them in.

A 'lifespan' only seems to apply to the fibre wrap and composite bottles
