So I'll take this opportunity to explain. Any discussion of a specific event or tournament play in general; rules, personalities, gossip, etc. is all good if the basis of the discussion is tournament play.

So why move thread(s) thanking tournament organisers/players and discussing the tourny?

I would suggest that

it's because thankyous really have no place anywhere on the forum...remember, it's a discussion FORUM, for discussion, not for 'thanks you were great, no you were man...no really, you rock etc.'

Thanks can go in announcemnts or somewhere, but in Newbie, Rec, T&T, tourney and Speak your Brains we want discussions and interesting, relevant stuff to a wide cross-section of ballers, not thanks and back-slapping between 10 people.

It just gets a bit cliquey and dull for everyone who didn't attend that particular thang...

Tho I now fully expect Baca to give a totally different reason since I waded in and rudely ansa'd a question aimed at him...me and my big mouth.

am sure discussion about the tourny would of insued, I for one did attend the tourny but only logged on to P8nt today not much time to get any discussion going!

cos it was a sticky intended for edification, tha guys wanted to keep it simple...now if you wanna start a thred entitled 'What I think makes a tourney post...' I'm sure that'd be fine.

Stop busting my balls dude...even though I guess since I waded in I like totally asked for it.

A) no reason a "discussion" can't ensue elsewhere
B) see TJ's response
C) I also have suggested that marginally related to Tournament Forum threads are open to interpretation and my interpretation tends to give benefit of the doubt to Prior to an Event posts as those are the ones most likely to benefit players.
D) of the 18 posts in the thread (last time I noticed) you asked about the only info to appear that was vaguely tournament related in my estimation was the 3rd place for the Chicks--and the observation that the conditions were a bit rough but still fun. (See--I actually read it, too) I waited for 17 of those posts to be included in the thread before I decided to bump it--quite generous I would have said --but it all comes down to a judgement call. While you are sure a discussion of the event would have ensued I was not. However, feel free to start a new thread offering your observations of the event, the field, the competitors, etc. and we'll see what happens.
And as you may have also noted I was rather busy earlier sweeping up.

As they were related to a specific incident where my point was intended to reflect the general use of the Forum so, since I know Sparklie saw the other posts, I decided the rest were a distraction and deleted them.
And, that wasn't actually a discussion. That was venting with Your Humble Moder8or being as diplomatic as possible.

Why bother with all this modding. Just remove offensive posts and leave it at that. No one really cares if there is an extra post in tourney that should be in classified or whatever most people just go to view new posts when they log on anyways. Seems a waste of time to me, you can ignore the posts you are not interested in.
