You all know the feeling, that of an awkward situation.
For example, you go to a friends house and they give you fish for dinner, but you hate fish, you eat it anyway and smile. My question is, how bad do things get before you say something?
I use the term 'chief' when I talk to people ,I once said it to the leader of an African Choir when I was doing a job in a church ,that was pretty awkward during the subsequent puzzled stare.
As a nation i think we'd rather let someone piss on our shoes rather than object to someone's face. That culture is gradually changing but it's still the prevalent stand point as far as i can make out.
Some of my extended family are French and they look and sound like WW3 is about to bust out when they're deciding what to have for tea!!!
