ok,so the ball passes the detents before its fired, but the ball fits fine in the barrel, would it seem it needs to be a little bit smaller you think? the ball takes its own weight and you can blow it out, which i believe to be the way to check size, thanks for all your help btw

Theoretically yes - but how consistent is the paint?

Going down another insert size won't hurt.

I have to say GeeTee is probably right. It sounds like it's your hammer lug, it is probably screwed in too far and it's not catching on the solenoid properly.

Take the bolt out, remove the frame from the body. Then pass an allen key down through the hole in the top of the body and locate it in the hammer lug, you might have to move the hammer to get it to line up.

Give it a full turn clockwise, then re-assemble and give it a try.

You can test release point on sear easily

Just remove grips & leave power off. C0ck hammer manually with cocking rod, then lift sear solenoid at bottom with a flat screwdriver of allen key. Should release in top third of travel. If it releases too soon sear lug needs winding in (down), or winding up (out) if it releases late. Just 1/8 - 1/4 turn makes a big difference.

Once you set it re-test powered up with air & eyes off.
