No they will be £2.50 (this year - £5 next year) in an attempt to encourage more organisers and players to come on board.

Steve;)

are you doing the same as the Millennium and requiring a photo ID (passport or Driving licence) to confirm who is who?

First outing

A big thank you to all the players/marshals and individuals who registered yesterday. Technology is great but always comes with a few teething problems therefore I must apologise to the players who had to wait whilst the card printer "played up!"

There is a plan!!!!

If I get the players to part with the £2.50 this year then it will revert to £5 next year. The database will be created so the card production will be easier and quicker. I have an agreement from the PA, Phoenix Indoor, Series Events, SWPL and hopefully soon Dartford and SPC that from 1/1/2005 players must be UKPSF members. This will then create the revenue to pay for the technolgy plus give all players an ID card and then this can be used for tournament ID and discipline matters.

It will work with the cooperation of players and event organisers.

If you play the UKPSF walk on Weekend this year will again get a £5 discount from the game fee which is twice what you pay for the card. Is that a bargain???

Next is to get shops to offer a discount to card holders??? Any shop fancy being the first to start the ball rolling???? Maybe 5% off retail

Steve

No need for driving licence or other ID you fill a form in and I trust you lot!!!

 :D

I was just wondering cos it woulndn't cost any extra to put them on, only if you wanted to buy the scanners later you would have the option.

Was just an idle wondering though, i'm sure they have spent more hours pondering it than me. :)

One thing that did confuse me was the series registration on the reverse. A nice touch, but it detracts from the universal aspect of the card because people might want to play more than one series or just turn up to occasional events.

What would make more sence IMO (so it might actually be a stupid idea :) ) would be for each player to have a universal UKPSF ID which they have to show when they register at the event. If the event wanted to have some kind of registration id they could then be given one of those disposable wristbands (I think they already use these at the P.A.L.), which could be different for each event.

But i suppose they could still use it at other events, or would they need a new one?

But anyway, It is a briliant system already, and being run at cost price unlike some other systems around the world. :)
