(long story)
right we get there on friday afternoon, get to the hotel and try to find out where the venue is so we can go walk the fields, we can't find out, then the German teams arrive and tell us the field isnt up yet and theyve heard the organiser (costas) has been arrested.
we get picked up at 8 in the morning and taken to Costas' site, the locals blocked off the road (which was on their land) down to his site and said theyd call the police if we trespassed. or if we wanted to use it we'd have to pay. and they'd smashed everything up, he showed us pictures later they had destroyed a building he'd built onsite
we were taking bets as to whether the police would be there saturday morning Costas said the locals had also told the police we were terrorists and the 'tournament' was a terrorist training ground lol they really really didnt like him
Costas apparently had had this going on for a while and he was trying to get it sorted out and the locals kept complaining about him and having him arrested or something, I dunno it was all Greek to me (literally) . so we were left standing on the side of the road for 45 min wondering if we were going to play at all, then he got us another bus and took us to another site with a proper astroturft pitch (but only one field), setup beches etc and netting and we played there although didnt start till 12.
so it turned out Ok just was really stressful friday night and sat morning. We played 11 games in all and came 6th
and we got to play with a view of the mountains, and set up in an olive grove apart from the trouble to start with it was actually quite nice and the food was great.
paint problems? Nope there was a van of Chronic which shot really nice so only prob was venue and arsey locals.
we really really enjoyed Sunday night as we went out with the German teams Gung Ho and Rhein Affair and it was really nice
