Less than a week old and in need of help already....

Well 1st of all thanks to Robtatto for walking me through the workings of my new xmag. Lovely lovely gat.

Minor point now of course, is that since I popped the bolt/valve assembly out for a clean of the outer surfaces (not a disassemble note), put it back in, dropped some oil through the air hose and fired ten shots or so, the bolt now sticks forward after each shot and leaks air like a mad thing.

Coupled with this I can no longer easily free the valve assembly (the screw comes out, but the assembly won't slide out) so I'm wondering what I've managed do do to my poor marker in such a short space of time owning it.

Any help greatly appreciated...

*shakes head in disbelief at self*

make sure you flip switch to manual and have the safety off, pull the trigger to release the bolt ..

for the bolt stick, check the o-ring in the lv.x carrier, make sure its a good fit and like parksy said, try the different sizes. go to the biggest size carrier that doesnt leak.

Make sure you "x vALVE" (always used to be Automag), the actual engraving, on teh two halves of teh Reg/Valve, lien up...should also be a line on there to make sure its straight.

Or do what the others said.

LX Loves oil...if the carrier O-ring has worn..you will have to wear in a new one...

Does it still do this with the breech removed? Try placing something in the breech space (breech removed) & pulling the trigger to check the lvl10. Dumb question, but have you replaced the return spring on the bolt? I've seen this done before.........ahem.

Try removing the bolt from the valve, it should be a light, sliding fit with a moment of friction as the lvl10 catches it. once removed, smear a light coating of magoil onto the powertube. If that doesn't work, try going up a size on the carrier.

A blank carrier = size 0
one spot = size 1/2
one line = size 1
one line, one spot = size 1 &1/2

etc etc etc....

Don't forget to put the 2 shims back into the powertube before you replace the carrier though.

hope this helps mate.

just another thing, if you're struggling to free your valve from the body, de-gas the gun, remove the rear screw, turn the gun on & holding the back of the valve, pull the trigger. This'll release the sear & allow the spring to push the valve clear.

right folks cheers for the help,

I got it all sorted and it was running fine at home, travelled down to Uttoxeter for the masters yesterday and it was playing up again.

If I can describe this again, all advice appreciated.

Switching it on, and gassing it up is not a problem.

I dial the adjustable reg up to 800 or so to start with. Pulling the trigger at this point and the valve WILL cycle. The down side is that it cycles about 4-5 times per trigger pull.

Turning the pressure down and trying the same thing leads to the bolt sticking 'forward' in the fired position and the valve staying open leaking gas through the bolt.

I've had the bolt off the carrier and all seems good and clean, no grit or obvious debris in there or the valve. A slight lube and replace and the same symptoms occur.

Somewhat frustrating as I thought I had this problem licked but apparently not. To be fair it did get some startled looks at the masters, gotta love the cycle rate on mags. *chuckle*

Oh well, any help greatfully recieved....

Oh and I DID swap the return springs to see if that made any difference, it didn't, so I swapped them back....

When you say it was cycling several times per trigger pull, was this in E-mode or manual??

Do you have the ULT kit?

It seens very strange that turning the input pressure down causes the bolt to stick forwards.

I cant think of any reason why that should happen??

Have you got a stock (non Level 10) bolt ?
Becuase you could try that and it would rule out any level 10 setup type problems.
