The technical game evolves so fast that even I, a relative newcomer, see the difference. The speed and accuracy with which players snap-shoot, the accuracy with which they shoot while moving, the sophistication of multi-player events (not plays, quite, but that is coming on fast, say by June) leave no doubt in my mind that today's top players would wipe up the top players of yesteryear if not for one fact- a lot of those players are still on top. They are there still, of course, because they didn't rest on their laurels, but improved.

Coaching in the NXL is the only threat I see to continued improvement, but I am not even sure that makes that much difference to players' overall quality. For every step back, there is a super-man slide forward in skill standards.
