Just thinking are the top pros of today, NXL teams etc, as good or better than say the champions of days gone-by.

Take the Aftershock that won the world cup a couple of years ago or even the original Ironmen and compare them to todays Oakland or Dynasty

which are the better players???

i think today's player are beter, due to more sofistocated training, and a larger tallent pool to draw from as the sport grows.
I think players will always be better than the generation of players before them, as long as the sport continues to grow.

Sorry, really couldn't help that. After weeks of toss postings this one actually made me think! I believe our game has evolved and it would be really entertaining to see the teams you mentioned going at Dynasty etc. I agree that the fitness levels are way different now and Col has a good point about training but then you think back to the teams being discussed and I think it would be a real close game. Those teams, Ironmen & Aftershock had so much talent and such close teamwork, that it may be a good counter to the speed and agression from teams of today like Dynasty for example.

Todays Pros play a different game then to say 2 years ago. Coming out the woodland has changed the sport. I agree that todays pros are better trained and fitter, but could they take the old pros on in the trees?

Hard to call really, I think the old pros (read Preds, BC etc) would give the likes of Dynasty a reasonable run for their money playing sup air, with modern equipment, if you gave them a chance to watch a few tournies (I don't think they'd win but they wouldn't embarass themselves), on the other hand stick Dynasty in the woods, with pumps and I don't think they'd stand a chance against the stars of yesteryear, even given time to study woodland tatics/tournies.
I don't think you can really say who's better overall, the game has changed too much.
