I disagree

Piranha Punk, I agree with you that it was awful, and was more likely to have been some stupid kids and not paintballers, but to say that every paintballer in the states, or the world, has too much respect for the sport to do **** like this, is a big generalisation. I've seen people at the top of the sport who have been playing for years and have big trophy cabinets to some really stupid dangerous stuff with their guns, like shooting with no masks on, not in any safe area, with a bunch of kids around them watching.

If these are supposedly the most experienced, the most professional, and the ambassadors for paintball, what do you think lots of less experienced, less concerned paintballers are gonna act like? I think there are plenty of people who would play regularly at a site on a sunday, and then not think twice about getting their marker out to take potshots at cats, passers-by or cars or whatever.

You can't really trust anyone to behave in a responsible manner, and to think that they would 100 percent of the time is a little naive - no offence to you, because I know a lot of people think the way you do.

Yeah, there was a certain player as campaign cup in england last year who got 1 of his eyebrows shaved off by someone while he was asleep.
The following day he was hunting the guy down with an angel hed cranked up to full velocity, probably doing nearly 400fps.....

hmm the players name escapes me..

sad to hear about the 54y/o

i find it sickens me to the bone that any person could have such a complete lack of brains to do this sort of thing .
Having been in to the sport for only about three years as a tourny player and marshal we need all the good publicity we can get ,not morons getting us bad press like this.

if or should i say when they get caught they should be tried for attempted murder as that's what it is .

i seem to remember a piece on the t.v showing a paintball drive-by and the d*ckheads got six years when the cops got hold of the video they did ..

p.s i just hope the gent makes a full recovery.

News on the Gary Holdren attack

I'm sorry to say that Mr. Holdren has now died due to the injuries sustained from the attack a few weeks ago. I'm sure we all extend our condolences to the family of the deceased at this time.

There is however new evidense supporting the idea that Mr. Holdren was not indeed, as it was previously though - attacked by paintball guns. Please read on:

"Recently California resident Gary Holdren died after two weeks in a medically induced coma following a severe head injury. Several regional newspapers reported that Holdren had been assaulted with paintguns while roller skating, and during the assault fallen off of his skates sustaining the injury.

According to a Los Angeles Fox 11 news release of an Associated Press story, Holdren's autopsy report has put the claims of a paintball assult in doubt. According to the story, the police now say that neither the autopsy report or the testimony of doctors who treated Holdren found evidence that Holdren had been struck with paintballs. The initial tie in to paintball seems to stem from eyewitnesses telling the police that three boys had been seen firing paintguns in the area where Holdren was found.

The police still hope to contact these three youths to learn more about what really did happen to Mr. Holdren. Anyone who may have seen the incident, or know how to contact the youths is encouraged to call the Huntington Beach Police Department."

Can anybody tell me why whenever any crime happens that is paintball related, said crime is always commited wihin the States?

Well, most paintballers in the States are conservative, self sufficient, respectable, friendly, normal and intelligent people...in short, the people that want liberals and their sniveling, controlling, anti American drivel from holding any water and who don't want them around. Therefore the media attempts to villify paintball because it's an activity of their enemies and an instance of people (under normal circumstances) who handle something mildly dangerous with responsibility and have fun and benefit from doing so. They don't like that at all. They prefer accidents, crime, stupidity, and government intervention because reporting about such keeps them employed.
