Air gun law was not designed with paintball markers in mind and there has never been any legal case to officially interpret the law on paintball markers.

It seems probable that automatic markers will fall under the law though, but lets be fricking real, you dont get 10 years, paintball markers are only affected by this law by coincidence more or less, and the reason were not all arrested is because law is a subjective thing and the law regarding airguns + paintball has never been subjected to the courts.

Loply....... there has been no test case, but a full auto marker is considered the same as any full auto weapon...... face it, no one has been charged at all. Are you willing to take yours into a police station and ask "excuse me constable, can you check how long I face in prison for owning this?" there are lots of English laws like this..... they don't get enforced until one "crusading MP" decides he's going to launch a campaign.
Lots of stuff that's done in paintball is borderline illegal/HSE violation etc... and done as a matter of routine.
I'm not going to post anything about it (anyone could be reading this).

So, this is from the UKPSF web site and is word from word from the Firearms act (the law matey)
“While only the courts can offer a final ruling, it seems likely that a paintball gun capable of fully automatic or burst fire would count as a prohibited weapon under Section 5(1)(a) of the Firearms Act 1968. The maximum penalty for possessing such an item is ten years imprisonment. A circuit board or chip to allow fully automatic or burst fire would be a component part of such a weapon”.

Further discussions this week and letters exchanged between the UKPSF and the Home Office have confirmed that Section 5(1)(a) prohibits any weapon, which discharges two or more missiles with one operation of the trigger.

so go on, be the test case and the question once and for all, just don't drop the soap ;)

Well guys
Unless action is taken shortly
then a test case is just around the corner
What would you guys prefer
Self regulation or Home Office regulation
If we can't regulate ourselves then we all lose out
Remember I they don't understand it, they can ban it
No skin off their nose
All because somebody cannot be r'st to disable a switch.
