You can use metal tools on it mate, it's a piece of piss, make sure the cutting speed is nice and slow and just take your time when you turn it down.

Matt put a bit more rake on the tool, get a nice edge, and yes keep the speed down.

The speed depends on the grade of the acrylic.If its acrylic tx you can use a speed around about 210 to 350 rpm but if its a fr or fm acrylic its harder so you can go a bit faster. Use a flat tool and set it of buy 0.50 degreesso it cleans the first cut of u should get a nice smooth finish so u dont have to do as much polishing after.

If your still intrested in some acrylic you wont be able to get pink or red e.t.c in 50 mm think shet or rod so its going to be clear.

yep its all in the gearing in turning speeds.if u have a loydd & jones ships& engineering stores u should get what u need

Trick is to keep the heat down. Try about 10 degrees of releif, and a little bit of rake (changed my mind).
