anyone know where to get acrylic from

im looking for a chunk of clear acrlyic big enough to make a pump handle out of.....anyone know any suppliers that might be able to help me out?

looking about 4-5cm x 4-5cm x 13-14cm


ideas anyone?

my dads a cdt teacher but he is doing supply work at the mo (hes retired...kinda) so he cant get hold of materials anymore

So do you want tubular or a block? for a wee bit of cash ( to pay the school, not me )i could probably get hold of the CAM machine at school for you, that would shape it, all you would have to do would be to polish the thing!!

tube or block it doesnt make a difference im going to be turning it anyway, have got the use of a lathe in my dads own workshop....just found one website that has a chunk going for £8 which is a lot lower than i was expecting.....just need to get an answer off a someone i emailed about what tools to work it with, probably metal cutters but i need to make sure before i do anything

Heya, tried to talk to my teacher today but he was busy, he said it should be OK and shouldn't cost more than about £5-£10, but he was showing people around and so had no time to work it out for me, he said to go back tommorow so i'll speak to him then

I can help with the acrylic can get loads of the stuff.... i wouldnt use metal turning tools on it unless there sharp if not your end up with a melted block of the stuff.....
